last week

The las week of internship was very hard we barely did a lot but we actually got all the work done on time for it to be publish in the paper. I mean the rain was slowing us down which was mess up but we did a very good job, the harders thing for me was that even though that not what i wanted to do i got a good experience from this program i was in. Its hard to let go when you get use to the job in get along great with the people you work with. Made some great new friends and am happy that i did this internship and i didn't quit, just want to say thank you for that great time in CPL it was a blast.

Goal

Did you meet your goals?
I mean this not what i was looking to do but i got a lot of experience from this program

What are the most important things you’ve learned?
I learn how to trinscribing i also learn how to be a journalist something i though i would never be in still dont have that in mind.

In what ways have your grown?
i have grown to be more and more confident and have less fear to talk to people i dont know.

What were the highlights of your internship experience?
I mean i work for the newspaper thats a cool thing, work with metro and amsterdam news and daily news well not me really but since my partners did and article for them i guess they feel like i did something to.

If you can, describe a memorable moment or experience.
Am going to remember getting interviewed about international shcools or shcool period it was a great interview pull a lot of things out of me, also the celeberties i see around the city when am walking to do my interviews.

What challenges did you overcome?
working by myself i mean its not that hard to work by myself its just that more the one people the work is faster but it was cool.

What advice would you give a new intern at this site?
I mean be ready for the cold weather and be ready for all the walking and be ready to listen in trinscribing peoples interviews.

What will you miss about your internship?
I dont i guess my working my partners the new ones i meet at the site and guess seeing the city but all that walking use to kill me though i think i got skinny from all that walking but it was worth it meet new people see a lot of things been around the city, toke couple of walks around central park which was great but those are long walks though.

This was i was really kind of busy with things but internship is really normally the same. i went we read the newspaper and talk then go outside in do interviews. But on wensday everybody else left while i was there by myself working on the trinscribing the interviews it was pretty ok. After a little while some other kids came and they were doing some interviews over some phone thing. I think its like a phone you call the people you want to interview you interview them over the phone while it record everything the person is saying. it was pretty ok working alone is boring but pretty ok.

Today me and alex we went outside and try to do more interviews on the video game question. but before i was transcribing the ones we did yesterday and we had fun doing it, it was kind of nice outside. So we did as much interviews as we could after we had back inside.

We did a lot today it was me and shelly we went out and we interview about video games. we did this interview because of the new game Grand Theft Auto. We wanted to hear how video games have affect on the young people that play it. We got a good amount of interviews i think we did pretty solid and i was happy with the outcome.

Today was an interesting day because me and alex we went to another school thats around 14th street well some where around 10th street. It was fun we went to interview a couple of kids we didnt find that much kid but we manager to find enough to interview. The question we had was related to school test and how much do you think the teachers should get paid. So thats how my day went today an after we was done we went home took a while but i got hear.

Today was an ok day because we went out again an work on the spring break questions. We did like 8 more interviews on that today which went great then we went back to upload the pictures and do everything else. When we was done we seat and talk for little and then we went home.

on Tuesday me and alex when out to do some interviews on spring break. What the kids going to be doing for there break and how much homework they going to have stuff like that. It was very hard but we pull through and did all the interview.

Midpoint Reflection Question

How has the internship been the same as and/or different than your expectations?
My internship is kind of the same cause i still have to come up with qeustion and then go interview people.

What is similar and different about the culture of the school environment versus the workplace environment? What new skills have you learned that apply to the workplace?
I learn how to transcribe and i learn how to do a proper interview and i learn the exprience of a journalist, school is different its just going to class in do your homework.

What kind of relationship do you have with your mentor and co-workers? How have you grown as a result of interacting with professional adults?
I have a great relationship with my mentor and my co-workers we work great together.

What challenges at the internship have you faced that you have overcome and how did you overcome them?
Well its going up to people in the street and interview them thats was a great challenge for me and i guess i overcome that in a good way of not being affraid to go up to anybody.

What challenges have you faced in school as a result of the altered schedule and how are you handling them?
Well the only challenge with school i think its that we get a lot of homework and dont have enough time to do them but i guess i just have to manage my time a little more better.

What goals are you working to accomplish during the remainder of the internship?
I dont know i guess to do a good job and work really good with my mentor and my co-workers.

What new things have you learned about New York City?
Nothing still the same just that people is very rude in the City thats all.

Today was and ok day it was only me and Alex. We did about 8 interviews but we was aiming for higher success but i guess that didnt happen but everything went well. The topic was about the community still but this time it was going to be for Metro news not daily news, which was pretty interesting and we got some pretty good answer from the kids that we interviewed.

Wensday wasnt really all that all i did was transcribe the interview from Tuesday. But Alex and Shelly was interviewing kids for the daily news, they was talking about what would they do if they were put on there community board, because they going to past a bill that say that teen from 16 and 17 could now join the board but before it was from 18 and up. So they what basically happen on Wensday beside Mr.Nikola came by for a quick visit to see how we was doing.

Tuesday was a great day me and shelly which is the new girl was working. We had a blast we went to around interviewing people and after that we went to 42nd and got more interviews by TRL. It was fun all the girls there was screaming out my name no let me stop playing they was screaming some superstar guy name Ray J out like crazy but we manage to get as much interview we could. One question was about the pope and the other two question was about earth day.

Today was a ok day wont say great,but everything went ok me and alex had to go outside today to do interviews about peoples local park and how safe they think it is. We walk around central park to look for students but we didnt really find students. We only got one interview today and that was kind of bad but tomorrow we going to try harder to get as many as we can.

This week i work for four days, i was tired and exhausted but i manager to get throw the week. Yesterday was an ok day becasue it was raining a little bit but everything went fine. We me an my partner went outside to do some interviews, i was working with someone different this time it was a new girl that came this week her name is jasmin, and alex was wokring with the other new girl her name is sherley. I actually went outside twice yesterday because jasmin she leaves at three o'clock so i had to go back to my work site an get the other girl an her name is maria. The interviews went great we got like 6 interviews and me jasmin got three interviews thats a total of nine interview which was great, an i left at five o'clock.

Today at was me and alex and some new girl that just join the team and today we went out doing interviews about how affordable is a baseball game for teenagers. We went to 42th and did a couple of kids from school around the area and we got there point of view on how affordable is a ticket to a baseball is for them. After that went want back and alex was working on the pictures and me i was transcribing the interviews, didnt finish transcribing yet but am almost done, so today was a very good day everything went well we did about 10 or 11 interviews.

Today was a different thing went we got there we meet some new members and we talk and we came up with the nice topic that we going to go do interviews on tomorrow. After that we went to a middle school in Brooklyn to do some more interviews when we was done we went home.

well monday was just a normal day when i got there i went out to get some interviews, but i walk around for hours and i got nothing only one it was a pretty hush day but i got throw it. But later i was interview about international schools since i go to one.

The first week of internship seminar

What is it?
it's a journalist site the name of it is Children Press line for shorter you could say (CPL)

What kind of business is it and what kind of work do the professionals do there?
It's a reporting job in the people that work there work on news and edit them and send them to the metro newspaper

Where is it?
It's in Manhattan inside Martin Luther King high School located on 66th and Amsterdam

Tell a little about your mentor.
My mentor is very nice she help me and my partner soon as we get in she start to tell us what to do and then she come and look over it with us

What happened on the first day?
The first day me and my partner came up with a bunch of question then our mentor went over it with us and then we choose which is the best to go ask people

What kinds of things have you done so far?
I have done interview and i learn how to transcript

What were some of the highlights of the first week? (Memorable moments, cool things...)
Well to me nothing really but i mostly like the fact that i learn something new, i learn how to transcript and edit

When do you leave school?
I think i leave school like around 11:40's or 12:00

How long does it take you to get to your internship?
Maybe it takes 1 hour and a couple of minute

When do you arrive at home?
I think it takes me about 1 hours and 30 minute or more to get home

What is your schedule? (What days do you work and for how long each day?)
I don't work on Monday's, Tuesday's from 1-4 or 4:30, Wensday from 1-5 or maybe later, Thursday from 1-6

Second week of intership

What did you do during your second week?
well i do the same thing as the first week wrote down question choose the best ones then go out to do some interviews.

How was it different than the first week?
they is no difference the only thing is that am getting use to it.

What is something that you really like about the internship?
well i don't know its nice in everything but i don't think i have find out what i like about it yet.

What is something you dislike about the internship?
i hate the fact that we have to walk around the cold, am really like feeling that.

Third week assignment

well in my internship i work in a different project almost everyday or every other weeks. Soon as me in my partner gets to our site we have to jag question down about whats going on right now after that we have to choice the best question to ask during the interviews. But we have finish a lot of projects we work on so far we already had two article publish by metro and the third one had been publish on Friday i guess the fourth one about st.Patrick well be publish on Monday morning. So on Tuesday soon as we get there we have to start working on something new something fresh.
